Please sent me a mail for the latest course leaflet: mail@leniekamstra.nl

The Monday afternoon and evening course is for beginners and advanced. The monthly course on Saturday afternoon can be followed if you have painted before, with acrylics or another technique.

Monday afternoon  11 lessons 1.30-3.30 p.m.
Monday evening  11 lessons 7.30-9.30 p.m.
Saturday  four afternoons 1-5 p.m.

General

It is an ongoing course where you can start in September and in January if there are places available.

In the course you can discover and/or develop the possibilities of painting with acrylics.
Alternating themes are offered in which, among other things, attention is paid to colour, form, composition and perspective. You can choose whether you work out the theme abstractly or figuratively.  Sometimes we work with mixed media, such as acrylic with (oil) chalk, acrylic and gels or with a collage. Or we take an artist or a movement from art history as our starting point.

Besides learning or deepening the technique, the emphasis is also on expression and developing your own style of painting. Some students work intuitively or from the imagination, others take a photo as their starting point. There is plenty of room for your own input. You will be guided in a professional and personal manner. And pleasure in painting comes first!

Waiting list

Because the courses are filled up quickly, you can also sign up for the course block after that. You will then be put on the waiting list and informed if there is room.

The studio is spacious, light and round

The studio is situated at the edge of Hillegom, is easily accessible and there is free parking space. There is a busstop at 5 minutes walking distance from the studio. Students come from all over the area, like Heemstede, Haarlem, Vogelenzang, Zandvoort, but also from The Hague, Leiden, Hoofddorp, Badhoevedorp, Uithoorn, because the studio is situated at good access roads. See the route map on the Contact page. When the weather is nice, painting can be done outside in the garden.

The teacher

The courses are given by Lenie Kamstra, visual artist and painting teacher. She has held various positions in primary and adult education. She has been working as an artist since 1990, and from her studio she organises courses, workshops and art projects for individuals and companies. Lenie has extensive experience in guiding groups. In the courses and workshops she gives, the pleasure of painting is central and she stimulates the participants to discover and develop their own visual language and style.
