Trees and More

Trees fascinate me. Although I like all sorts of trees, birches and plane trees are my favourites. The rough structures of the bark of the plane tree, the silvery white softness of the birch, I can keep looking at them endlessly. They are beautiful on their own and a forest full is breathtaking.  The glare of the sun through the trees, the backlight, the rustling leaves. And when it is dusk, the stems and branches take on different forms in my fantasy.

The Trees and More series was born from this fascination. The trees are made from pieces of linen attached on a linen painter’s canvas. Because the background is coloured and dynamic, you can use your imagination about what you see in the forest or in the water.
